Riding for the Disabled Association Annual Charity Ball 2018 was successfully held on the 12th January 2018 at Grand Hyatt, Hong Kong. This year, nearly 400 honorable guests, community partners and avid supporters of RDA gathered to support this major fundraising event. The guest of honor this year was The Honorable Mrs. Lam Cheng Yuet-Ngor, GBM, GBS, The Chief Executive of HKSAR. Other guests included Professor Sophia Chan Siu Chee, JP, Secretary for Food and Health, together with
President of RDA & Chairman of HKJC Dr. Simon S O Ip, CBE,JP, Chairman of RDA Mr. Thomas Yeung, Mr. Tung Moon Fai and Mrs. Rusy M Shroff, etc.
Before the banquet officially began, Dr. Simon S O Ip, CBE, JP extended a warm welcome to all the guests, briefly introducing RDA’s mission and services. Over the past 41 years, RDA has actively been promoting rehabilitative riding to the disabled community to help build their self-confidence, balance and co-ordination. This provision complements the Government’s rehabilitation programmes.
The highlight of the evening was the sharing session by RDA Honorary Member Mrs. Penny Smith and RDA Ambassador Ms. Margaret Chung. Both of them shared their days with RDA. Besides, we also had the marvelous charity singing by celebrity singers: Dr. Simon S O Ip, CBE, JP, Mr. Anthony Chow, SBS, JP, Mr. Thomas Yeung and Dr. Allen Shi, BBS, MH, JP. The excellent
performance made the night wonderful.
